Farming in 3 easy steps

Insert pod in growoff microfarm

1. Insert growth pods

The GrowOff pods are pre-seeded and covered with a cultivation film that helps the seeds to germinate. When the pod is inserted, The GrowOff recognizes the crop and starts watering.

2. Peel off film

When the seeds have sprouted after 3-5 days, it’s time to peel off the cultivation film. We’ll give you instructions on how and when in our app and through a light on the GrowOff.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Once you are all set up, you have to follow these three easy steps:

1: Insert the growing trays you have ordered from us

2: After a few days, when the app tells you to do so, remove the plastic film on top of each tray (the seed have germinated)

3: After a few weeks, when the app tells you to do so, harvest! And enjoy.

  • Per day, GrowOff uses:

    • 9 liters of water: The same amount as a 45 second shower.

    • 9,7 kWh: about two loads of tumble dryer.

To grow 300 crops in one month (although that will vary depending on which crops and how long they take before you harvest them), GrowOff also uses:

    • 30g of seeds: that would fill a teaspoon

    • 9kg of cocos fibre: about four pillows if you’d want to sleep on it?

    • zero pesticides!

  • Our selected shipping company will deliver your GrowOff SIF. You will have to connect it to the mains water and electricity supply. Depending on your location, the data connection works through WiFi or 4G. That’s pretty much it!

  • The first growing trays are ordered together with the GrowOff. After that, we will set up a subscription that ensures that you never run out of fresh greens! (PS: If you suffer from decision-making anxiety, we have a limited selection of curated bundles for you)

  • No, you can store them for up to six months. The growing trays we ship to you are completely dried. You can use them when you feel like it, plan your production and reduce waste.

  • You will receive the link together with your GrowOff.

  • With GrowOff, you will grow crops that use 95% less water than plants grown with traditional agriculture techniques. You will also reduce your Co2 footprint by limiting transport; the growing trays are much smaller and lighter to ship than living plants. And because GrowOff is energy efficient, you will save between 39% and 67% Co2 compared to a high-tech greenhouse.

Farming our way to a better future

Zero pesticides

We farm in a closed environment, which prevents pests from entering in the first place. So no need for pesticides!

Zero water wasted

By controlling the exact amount of water the plants need, we save up to 95% compared to conventional farming.

Less transport

Farming locally means we don’t need to transport the produce far, lowering energy consumption and reducing air pollution.
